Install WayStation
Follow the steps on the download page. It takes about a minute.
Link Outlook, Hotmail, Live or MSN
- Open WayStation and tap Outlook / Microsoft 365, then Continue to Microsoft.
- Microsoft's sign-in page opens. Type the email address you want to link. WayStation always asks, so it never picks the wrong account.
- Sign in, then tap Accept on the permissions screen. WayStation asks for permission to read and manage your mail so it can show emails and move the ones you choose to Trash.
- You're sent back to WayStation with your inbox loaded.
Link iCloud Mail
- On any device, go to account.apple.com and sign in.
- Open Sign-In and Security → App-Specific Passwords and create one named "WayStation".
- In WayStation, tap iCloud Mail, enter your iCloud email and the app-specific password (not your Apple ID password), and tap Connect.
Link Yahoo, AOL or other email
- Create an app password with your provider (Yahoo and AOL: Account Security → Generate app password).
- In WayStation, tap Other (IMAP).
- Enter the IMAP server, your email and the app password, then tap Connect.
Common IMAP servers: Yahoo imap.mail.yahoo.com, AOL imap.aol.com, Zoho imap.zoho.com. WayStation only connects over an encrypted connection (port 993).
Folders and Junk
Tap the folder bar at the top of your inbox to switch folders. Junk is highlighted because that's where most threats land. Outlook users can also pick Focused or Other. Scroll down to load more emails, 30 at a time.
Select and bulk delete
- Tap Select, or press and hold any email.
- Tap more emails, or tap Select all.
- Tap Delete… and choose Remove from this phone only (Pro) or Delete from my account. Account deletes go to your provider's Trash.
Threat checks (Pro)
Every email in the list is checked as it loads, and gets a label: Clean, Suspicious or Threat. Open one to see exactly why. WayStation checks:
- Whether the sender passed email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
- Look-alike sender and link domains (for example paypa1-verify.co)
- Links whose text says one site but go to another
- Links to raw IP addresses, disguised characters and link shorteners
- Risky attachments: programs, disguised files, macro documents, web-page files and archives
Flagged attachments are quarantined and can't be opened.
Vault and wipe on close (Pro)
Tap Save to vault on any email you want to keep. Vault emails are encrypted on your phone and stay after you close WayStation. When you tap Close & wipe, everything you didn't save is erased from your phone. Your email account isn't changed unless you turned on Also delete opened emails from my account in Settings.
Remove an account
Open Settings (gear icon) and tap Remove next to the account. WayStation deletes its saved sign-in from your phone. For Outlook, you can also remove WayStation's access at account.live.com/consent/Manage.
